Born December 27, 1928, a native of San Bernardino, Jeanne Edythe Choisnet, the daughter of Norris and Phyllis Choisnet, passed at the age of eighty-eight in the early morning hours of September 5, 2017. During her stay with us, she skillfully tossed a baton in American Legion parades and expertly tinkled the blacks and the whites-playing piano in a jazz band in both the San Bernardino High School and Valley College orchestras. She was a meticulous seamstress and elegant hostess. After positions at Redlands University, the County Board of Supervisors, and retiring from the San Bernardino County Department of Public Social Services, Jeanne volunteered for twelve years as a Pink Lady at St. Bernardine's Hospital. The list of her community affiliations is long: San Bernardino Jr. Women's and Women's Club; the Edgehill Club; California Grand Jury Association; Ombudsman advocates for the elderly; Inland Empire Symphony; Beta-Sigma Phi International; San Bernardino Federated Republican Women. Most recently, she served on the San Bernardino High School reunion committee, which celebrated its 70th year with Ms. Choisnet in her stylish Cardinal red signature jacket and hat. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Murphy-Taylor and Cherie Murphy-Payne, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and brothers Norris V. Choisnet, Jr. and Thomas F. Choisnet.
