Our beloved, Elizabeth Ruth Harper-McGee, died peacefully June 16, 2017, at her home in Hesperia, CA with her loving husband by her side. Liz was born on November 24, 1946 to the late Hattie Harper Harris and Isaac Harper in Drew, Mississippi where she enjoyed her childhood. She later moved to Chicago, Illinois where she lived briefly and finally settled her roots in sunny California where she raised her beautiful daughter, Jacqueline Person Brown, who preceded her in death. Liz loved life and worked hard her entire life. She was selfless and had a great love for her family and friends. If you needed help, she was the first to ask and the last to refuse. She loved to travel and knew how to have a good time, especially at her favorite place, the casino. Liz is survived by her devoted husband, Donald McGee; her grandson, Clifford Brown; her great-grandchildren, Kingston Clifford Brown, Christian James Brown, Ayden King Brown, and Makeyia Kahlece Arthur; seven sisters, Deloris Harper, Lorean Harper, Patricia Harper, Sheila Flowers, Tracy Harper, Lisa Prince and Rita Harper; and four brothers, Jamzell Harper, Leon Harper, Bobby Harper, and Terry Harper. Her kind and loving life lives on in the memories of her many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends who love and will miss her smile and her no-nonsense, tell it like it is attitude.
